Who is Slimmer Kitchen for?

Slimmer kitchen is for anyone who is 100% committed to changing their diet to improve health, longevity, or body shape.

It’s not for anyone who is not willing to forgo their morning biscuit with their coffee

It’s’ not for anyone unable or unwilling to cook food from scratch.

It’s not for anyone unwilling to try new foods or ‘thinks’ they don’t like something before they have even tried.

You must be willing to be 100% plant-based for the duration of the 6 weeks which means not eating any meat, fish, dairy, and eggs.

Traditional Slimming Clubs

Have you already tried slimming clubs only to put the weight back on? In most slimming clubs you are met by a leader who is still struggling with their weight. This may feel like they are on your side as you believe they understand your relationship with food and why you eat the way you do but if the leader is still struggling then they must be eating some of the wrong foods that are not leading them to their goal. This is because either; A- the system doesn’t work or B - they aren't following the system (therefore it doesn’t work)

Be aware that people like to hear good news about their bad habits. So think are they going to give you the information that keeps certain food on the menu because they are healthy and good for you or because they like to eat them?

Unlocking the benefits

The saying is 'You get out what you put in' so people believe they will still get results even if they cheat a little bit, but if you are only following the diet for 50% of the time then you will not get 50% of the results. This is because, if you are addicted or sensitive to certain foods then unless you cut them out completely you will not get any of the benefits, for example, you wouldn't advise someone who is an alcoholic to only drink on a weekend or a smoker to cut back from 20 to 15 cigarettes a day. Getting the diet right has to be 100% or nothing happens, This was once described to me as having a combination lock and to open the lock you need all the numbers in the correct order, if you get 50% or 75% correct the lock will still not open. This is the same is for health benefits from the diet.

What are you willing to do?

When you look in the mirror what do you see? Are you happy with your shape? Are you at optimum health or do you have conditions that require medication?

What are you willing to do 100% to put this right? I listen to stories from people who are desperate to lose weight and they are willing to drink shakes that taste disgusting and take tablets that could be dangerous. I hear stories from people with serious health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure and again they take the medication but are not willing to change what has brought them to where they are today. And that is the food that they put on their plate and into their mouths.

It sounds so simple; eat differently and you will be different, I understand how emotive food is. I know that sugar is just as addictive as heroin and that it feels hard to think about not having your favourite foods in your life ever again.  You think about special events like Christmas, birthdays, summer BBQ and how different it will be if you cannot eat what everyone else is eating. Here is the magic though, you get new favourite foods! You crave different things to eat and you enjoy the food that has now been introduced to you. It’s hard to imagine I know if you don’t like a food how are you going to magically start to enjoy it! Well, most of what we eat is out of habit, we do what we always have done. We tell ourselves a story about the foods we like and don’t like whether we have eaten them ever before or not! Real foods taste bland when you are used to eating highly refined, high salt, fat, and sugar-containing processed foods but when you cut these out your taste buds adjust and you start to enjoy the whole foods.

(Many people are very shy of a zoom call but it’s just like talking to each other in a room except we are all in our own rooms and the more you do it the easier it is to show your face. This is optional you can just listen in)
  • I will provide some weekly tips and tricks for you to incorporate into the following week depending on what you are finding difficult. Remember it’s going to be hard at first, you may find it hard when you go shopping, you may find yourself cooking different meals to the rest of the family but the end result will be a healthier, slimmer body and a new routine with meal planning.
